Hybrid Financial Planning/Associate Financial Advisor - Colorado Springs, CO

This position supports and collaborates with the Senior or Lead Advisor and Director of Financial Planning, providing an opportunity to learn about Summit's culture, investment philosophy, strategies, processes, and system platforms to help develop a solid foundation to nurture and grow relationships for new and existing clients. In addition, you will be working with clients on portfolio analysis, tax and estate planning, income needs, and employer retirement benefits.

An individual in this position helps clients identify their unique financial needs and objectives by uncovering, probing, and determining opportunities and services to enhance the client relationship.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting and reviewing client financial objectives to develop custom-tailored financial strategies and solutions to help clients pursue their dreams
  • Determining how life events affect financial strategy
  • Preparing financial-related analysis and research
  • Responding to client questions and concerns
  • Facilitating client portfolio and risk tolerance reviews
  • Money movement
  • Establishing accounts
  • Monitoring and implementing financial planning recommendations, including cash management, insurance coverage, and investment planning

 Initial compensation varies based on experience, skillset, and certifications:

  • Posted Compensation (DOE): $54K+ - Additional Information provided during recruitment discussions.
  • Salary and incentive pay based on individual and company performance
  • Current Benefits ($725/mo. Medical-Related Benefit Cash Allowance, 401(k) Match, Group Life, Long-term DI, Holiday/PTO/Sick Time, Continuing Education & Voluntary Ancillary Benefits) 

This position's general knowledge and skills requirements include:

  • A minimum of two to five years of client-facing experience and operations knowledge in the investment/insurance industry
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 registration, along with 63 and 65 (or Series 66)
  • Life, Health, & LTC licensure, or ability to obtain within 90-days
  • Enrolled in CRPC or CFP curriculum within the first six months in the position. Obtain CRPC within one year of starting the position

Travel

  • Limited travel is required for company meetings, training, and occasional meetings at client locations. The employee must be able to travel independently on an infrequent basis, including some overnight stays.
