Chris Knupfer

Chris serves as Senior Portfolio Manager at Summit Wealth Group, where he helps oversee investment strategy, portfolio construction, and ongoing investment research. He brings a thoughtful, process-driven approach to portfolio management, with an emphasis on owning high-quality businesses and building portfolios designed to perform over full market cycles.

Before joining Summit, Chris served as Chief Investment Officer at Financial Investment Team in Portland, where he led the firm’s investment strategy and managed portfolios for its clients. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years at BMO Family Office, primarily as a research analyst. During his time there, he developed extensive experience in equity and manager research and served as Chair of the Equity Working Group.

Chris holds an MBA in Finance from Pacific University and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys hiking and camping throughout the Pacific Northwest. He and his wife, Lelia, are also on a constant search for Portland’s best restaurants.
