Dan and his co-author, Douglas O'Neill, share their personal journeys, from the fateful diagnosis of cancer to the long years of emotional recovery, and offer wisdom on preparing for a spouse's death, adjusting to being a single parent, and eventually finding healing. The book not only is written for the surviving spouse but also for the families and friends who are also dealing with this life-challenge. Dan consults and advises many widowers, widows, their families, and friends on financial issues such as how to avoid potential pitfalls of others taking advantage of their inheritance or settlements. Please refer to the News and Education section of the website, Recent News and Special Features section, if you are interested in purchasing Grief Odyssey.

Dan lives with his wife, Patty, in Morrison, Colorado. Dan and Patty have three children: Alisha and husband Dave, Brett and wife Jen, and Danielle, as well as six grandchildren: Jaelyn, Grace, Adison, Tavin, Blake and Kendal.
