Michael Comstock, CFP®, AIF®
Head of Family Services | Senior Advisor
I’m a planner. It’s how I’m wired. Whether it’s planning for a vacation to Paris with family, all the way to starting a family and building a successful business…they all require planning, attention to detail and a focused commitment. This kind of mindset lends itself to the passionate devotion I have to help our clients set meaningful financial goals and see them to a successful completion. Nothing could be more professionally satisfying to me.
There’s nothing better than teaming up with professionals, entrepreneurs, and their families to develop a plan and see it through. Regardless of what the economy, the stock market…or simply “life” throws at them. We’re in it together, and nothing falls through the cracks.
I started in the industry over 25 years ago when I launched Premier Private Wealth in Brentwood, with a passionate focus on building a team of professionals who can use our extensive knowledge base to stay on top of the most effective tools and information to guide our clients. We certainly did that, but what began as an exercise in technical excellence has evolved into a humbling experience where clients allow us into their lives in a way I could have never imagined. Sure, money is important but what it does for people is so much better.
In 2026, I merged my practice with Summit Wealth Group and launched Summit's Family Office Services while maintaining my role as Senior Financial Advisor.
I'm passionate about what I do. I get to be a part of someone retiring and enjoying the fruits of their labor, parents helping their kids with that first down payment on their house, supporting a charity that strengthens our community, or celebrating the success of building and then selling a business. I walk alongside families who have to make tough decisions about care for their loved ones. Who would have thought that my knowledge of economics and the stock market would evolve into countless situations where I end up helping genuinely good people who become friends, not just clients? Wow.
I do stay busy keeping pace with an ever-changing financial landscape. Education is really important and is why I have earned and embrace the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification, the benchmark for financial planning, as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation highlighting my commitment to putting my clients' best interests first. I’ve been recognized by Forbes magazine as a “Best-In-State Wealth Advisor”* in the state of Tennessee. I also hold the Whole Family Advisor® Associate (WFAA) certification from Legacy Capitals, a designation that helps me guide our clients through multigenerational planning discussions, including family mission/vision, family governance, family dynamics, wealth, education, and much more. Our dedication to growing our expertise ensures we will continue providing our clients with the care, guidance, and insight they deserve. In addition, I attend many conferences and workshops throughout the year as well as serve on boards of organizations that I feel have a mission of increasing the quality of financial services and advice that people need.
With our two teenage daughters, my wife Julie and I live a busy life in Brentwood, TN. We enjoy travelling as a family and love taking trips to Europe and across the US. Between sports, school, church, and work, there is never a dull moment, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. As any parent knows, “The days can be long, but the years are short.”
