Prior to joining Summit Wealth Group in July of 2015, David owned and operated David Lee Financial, a wealth management practice in Memphis, Tennessee that he began in 1985. With the merger to Summit Wealth Group, David Lee Financial changed its name to Summit Wealth Group.
Drawing on a varied background including income tax experience, as well as financial planning and investment experience, David focuses on helping individuals and families address the decisions that arise when they are experiencing transitions in life, and on managing their financial resources in a comprehensive, systematic manner.
David received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Florida State University in 1978. After professional studies through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado, he obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification. David later added the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation, administered by the Investment Management Consultants AssociationSM taught in conjunction with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network® (a registered broker/dealer, member FINRA/SIPC). David holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities registrations and also life, health and long term care insurance licenses.
David and his wife Sharon have two children and one grandchild, who are all Memphis residents. David and Sharon are long-time members of Calvary Episcopal Church in Memphis. David is a member of the Grants and Initiatives committee of the Community Foundation. He previously served on the board of advisors for Bridges, as well as on the board of directors for Memphis Recovery Centers. David also coached youth soccer for 9 years. Having studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music, David has performed extensively in many styles of music. Currently, he plays saxophone with Memphis blues musicians.
